Design with Purpose
Although Ronnie loves to create music, he never settled with just one form of art. When he was in high school, he would day dream of touring and performing. He would design everything from the tour bus, the stage, the instruments, and all the fashion he would wear. Although he desired to create it all, he felt he had a better chance to land something solid in design and still have the freedom to be creative. After attending Bassist College, he was blessed to land a design position with Adidas in 1994. Later he took a job with Mecca, Pony, and then AND 1
Since 2005, he has been blessed to design for Jordan and Nike. He is the first ever African American VP of footwear design in Nike’s history. His experiences included creating apparel and footwear for some of the world’s greatest athletes, musicians, music videos, TV shows, and fashion runways around the world. His biggest learning lessons within the world of design is to Be a sponge. Seek meaningful direction when creating. And Collaborate to gain group perspective. He applies this philosophy to his music as well!
Give Love Away
Ronnie is a huge fan of the famous Christian band Commissioned. Their song “Give Love Away” inspires his actions to do just that. His contribution to his community includes volunteering in various community programs such as NPCE through SEI. He also volunteers at his Church (Emmanuel COGIC United) and Emmanuel’s community outreach program. He is a mentor to thousands and a cheerleader to all who are seeking to reach their potential.
